Equipment Calibration

Quick answer

Every quarter, Quality calibrates each measurement tool against a certified reference. Tools out of tolerance are tagged Out of Service.

Full procedure

  1. 1Pull the calibration due list from the Quality dashboard.
  2. 2Test each tool against its certified reference standard.
  3. 3Record readings on Form QC-19.
  4. 4Apply a new calibration sticker with the next due date.
  5. 5Tag any out-of-tolerance tool Out of Service and route to Metrology.

Common mistakes & exceptions

  • Can I use a tool with an expired sticker — No — never use a tool with an expired calibration sticker.
