Receiving Blue Containers
Quick answer
All inbound blue containers are received at Dock 3. Scan the container barcode into the WMS, inspect the seal, then route to Staging Zone B for putaway.
Full procedure
- 1Confirm the delivery appointment in the WMS dashboard before the truck backs in.
- 2Meet the driver at Dock 3 and verify the bill of lading matches the PO number.
- 3Inspect each blue container for seal integrity and visible damage.
- 4Scan every container barcode into the Receiving module (RCV-01).
- 5Photograph any damaged containers and log a Damage Incident (Form DMG-114).
- 6Route accepted containers to Staging Zone B; escalate discrepancies to the shift lead.
- 7Sign the driver release once all containers are accounted for.
Common mistakes & exceptions
- What if a container seal is broken — Refuse the container, photograph it, and file Form DMG-114 immediately.
- Do I need an appointment to receive — Yes — every inbound shipment must have a confirmed WMS appointment.
